At 3420 mtrs above seas level, in the heart of High Asia, we have created a neutral space for informed discussion and research on national, regional and global issues.

We provide information, analysis and dialogue facilitation for scientists and decision-makers across the region. Connecting knowledge at all scales, we enable scholars and practitioners to exchange ideas with the latest science and thought-leadership worldwide.

Our world – class analysis assist decision – makers in navigating the changing geopolitical environment in High Asia and its surrounding regions of East Asia (China), South Asia (Pakistan) and Central Asia. Collaboration is catalysed through our conference and workshops and at our centre in Ladakh. Where scholars can meet and exchange ideas with other researchers and scientist visiting the region.

We utilise our local and international network to identify issues of shared concern in Ladakh and across High Asia (e.g. investigating the effects of climate change on food crops and water supply), providing evidence-based analysis to help people navigate their changing environment.

At our centre we provide access to international journal, map and data-collections-particularly to support young scholars. We plan to produce series of Ladakh Papers, The Himalayan Dispatches, and News Bulletin, published through our website and partnership with leading journals in India and worldwide.
